I have finally reached the first proof for the 18 page doujin about Ino and Shino from Naruto. I still need to work on the cover and edit some of these pages.

I'm not sure if it's going to be released as a web-comic/digital or indie print.

Regarding the status of the Naruto Dojinshi, I finished most of the pages. However, I need to go back and re-ink some stuff so I need to add another week to this project. It's just 3 pages. Please bear with me... in the meantime enjoy my colored drawing of Strike Witches (see above).

Fooly Cooly Kinda Day

I'm current working on the 13th page of the circle's Naruto doujinshi which is focused on the Ino and Shino characters. I hope I can get it done before December 17. I've got six more pages and some editing at the end.

Experiment: Heavy Ink

I'm just experimenting with using heavy lines in my inking. Ultimately most comic art is always downsized, and the lines tend to get very fine. For most Japanese manga, they actually prefer very fine lines. This is just an experiment. Let me know if you like it in the comments section.

Shojo Beat Bites The Dust

So I’m browsing the net when I come upon a comment mentioning that Shojo Beat is ending its run. I’ve got to say I’m surprised. Despite its lacking in some areas such as the ‘anything aimed at girls must be pink’ theme, it was a cute and quirky magazine.

Viz says the decision to DNR Shojo Beat was due to “today’s difficult economic climate.” It seems SB is yet another victim amongst the magazines and newspapers that are struggling and/or failing nation wide. Interestingly enough though, Shonen Jump does not seem to be on its way out. I guess where this publication is concerned it

a) has a fan base bigger than SB so it can keep going

-or-

b) Viz had to choose between which of the two magazines to drop and it chose Shojo Beat.

So, after our meeting last weekend, DNS is going in a new direction. The destination is still the same, but the route we're taking is just a bit different.

We've decided to produce a bi-monthly magazine with a variety of stories and genres within. I'm actually really excited about this option, though it means more work for everyone. Right now we have 3 self-proclaimed artists and we're looking at roping in a fourth **hinthint Tasha** I asked people about their story ideas and there was such a wide variety because we all have different influences and different stories that we'd love to write/draw. From what I heard at the meeting, I think this new direction that we're going in is going to rock. We've also got a goal to release our first magazine in time for NYCC (New York Comic Con).

We've got a lot of work to do before then, though. みんなー　頑張りましょ！

Yea back from NC, pretty boring down there so not much to report. Yea im gonna pour my soul out on this one.
Do any of you guys have a romantic partner or the like?
On my way back up to NYC, i was reading an ass load of manga that i bought with some gift cards. One of them was ichigo 100%. The thing i did was listen to lia's prismatic album while reading this romance manga. After reading it, I felt weird. I think i felt empty or sumthin because i lack the romantic partner. I wonder if I would like half the romantic manga i read if i had a partner...
You should have seen me, I was eating at a restaurant, i felt tired and stuff.
But i quickly remedy this feeling with some shonen manga and thinking it over with myself. Like "you dont have time for a GF" or "Wait unitl the next convention" or "Wait until you move out of your moms".
Well yea, i like doin this stuff. Hope to see yall again soon.

Musa's an idiot...

We're currently in the middle of our weekly meeting via Skype because nasty weather's heading our way. I have come up with a theory that Musa doesn't really have a filter between his brain and his mouth. Hopefully you guys will get to see what I mean via this blog.

Musa can't let anything go. And he totally doesn't win the Skype argument.
